Canvas Prints – The Perfect Photo Gift
Posted on 16. Sep, 2009 by admin.
How often are we stuck trying to find that perfect gift?
How many pictures do we have that when we see them bring back perfect memories? These photos are an excellent way to re-create those memories time and time again by turning them into canvas prints. The colors are rich and true and great for hanging on the wall as you would any work of art. Yet, these are your photos and your memories – your art.
Creating canvas prints is a process where your photo images are printed onto canvas rather than paper. You get a depth from the canvas and a richness from the quality inks that is unlike any other way of producing your photo image. The colors seem more vibrant and richer on canvas than they do on paper. They can also be easily framed creating a work of art rather than just a family photo. These are personal, artistic ways to enjoy your memories which are durable. The plain-woven cotton fabric gives your photo a distinct quality and texture, different than any other substance.
The process of creating canvas prints is simple. The digital image of your photo is printed on to canvas using UV-protected inks. These non solvent inks are the same quality you will find used in museums and art galleries. By using high quality inks this ensures your canvas print will last retaining its color, clarity and crispness. The canvas is made of high quality cotton to produce a depth not possible with paper. Your print will then be treated with several layers of a UV protection coating, again for durability. Once you have the print, you can further ensure it lasts a lifetime by keeping your canvas in a dry area. While there is a protective coating, this is not the same thing as water proof. If you canvas does get wet lightly dab it off with a soft cloth. Avoid putting the canvas in direct sunlit areas. Sunlight can fade even the most durable images, which is why museums do not have windows anywhere near paintings. Occasionally take a soft bristle brush and dust the canvas. This will keep the dust from dulling the colors.
Canvas prints are the perfect photo gift because they not only rekindle that perfect memory, but they create a way to enjoy that memory for years to come. No matter the occasion, recreate that perfect memory with the perfect gift.

Canvas Printing Leaves Lasting Memories!
Posted on 15. Sep, 2009 by admin.
Some moments are just so special you want to capture them forever and canvas printing gives you the opportunity to do just that. For centuries artists have painted on canvas, an extremely durable and uniquely flexible fabric. When canvas is stretched across a frame, it creates a unique tension that displays paintings to perfect advantage. Canvas also lends its own unique texture behind the image leading to a fascinating play of light across the artwork. Now, with advances in modern printing and manufacturing standards, your digital photographs can be printed on canvas, creating a long lasting and beautiful method for displaying your most precious memories.
Choosing a photograph to use for canvas printing is a matter of resolution and composition. In order to print well there are minimum requirements for resolution for each size of canvas. Basically, if you have a digital camera of 5 mega-pixels or better and you take photographs at the fine or best setting, any photograph you take will translate to canvas well. If your camera does not have that high of resolution then you will need to pay attention to the resolution of the individual photograph. Basically any picture over 2 meg will be great, but most that are between 700kb and 2 meg are workable. If in doubt, ask advice from the printer.
Once you have narrowed down the photographs you will be choosing to those that are a high enough resolution you can begin the process of choosing the perfect photo based on composition. Canvas printing will embed the image on a single sheet of canvas and then stretch it over a wooden frame or scaffold. This means that the outer edges of the photo (up to 1.5 inches) will be wrapped around the frame. If you choose a photo with a face at the upper edge you might end up with part of that person’s head wrapped around the edge of the finished product. Be sure to choose a photo with a good border.
Canvas printing is the perfect way to capture memories!
Canvas prints are perfect to save those wedding, family gathering or amazing holiday memories. The unique properties of canvas lend to depth in the image, making it a true focal point in any room you choose to hang it. If you want your memories to last and to be displayed beautifully, there is no better way to cherish them than having them printed in canvas.
